Miss Pink

If you have yet to visit the gorgeous new Pink Tartan boutique at 77 Yorkville, it's time to add it to your to-do list. Kim Newport-Mimran's flagship store not only hosts her full collection, but it also includes a well-selected number of her favourite goodies (most of which are now on my Christmas lists....for both giving and getting). The overall effect made me feel like not only was I getting better acquainted with the brand, but also with the lovely Kim herself (who, may I mention, was gracious and kind to everyone who walked into the store). Expect me to be a regular....I'll be shopping about once a paycheque ;)

Evan Biddell

It's been too long readers, but to make it up to you all I have some spectacularly exciting things coming up that I cannot wait to share. The first bit of news? This little blogger shot a fashion show! My camera and I attended Evan Biddell's Spring/Summer 2011 presentation and the experience certainly did not disappoint.

Evan's aesthetic has always been captivating and this collection was no exception. Hard and soft became besties as Evan mixed battlefield-influenced structure with florals and flowing fabrics. My must have list? the structured floral mini, black v-neck maxi dress and silver swimwear. At the end of such a fantastic show, no other expression could have been more fitting than Evan's ear-to-ear grin.

Can't get enough

Jules Power is absolutely one of my favourite Canadian designers, so when I found out that she was hosting a Trunk Show to launch her Rethink Breast Cancer t-shirt, I wrote it in my calender in pen, not pencil. We were greeted at the door with wine and appetizers, but I ended up ditching my glass of red for fear of spilling as I went crazy for the clothes. The room was gorgeous and it was so fun to see Jules' inspiration board and work space as well as her wonderful fashions. I left with a Rethink t-shirt, but spent the car ride home fantasizing about what life would be like if my wardrobe also included that forest green blazer with a leopard print lining, oooh and the yellow motorcycle jacket, oh and DEFINITELY that red dress. Thank you Jules for hosting such a fabulous evening!

Joe Freshest

Last night was LOU LOU's Shop 'til you drop Toronto event, which invited the most serious of shoppers to visit the participating Yorkville stores such as Jacob and BCBGMAXAZRIA for gift bags, photobooths and tasty treats among other surprises. While each location was filled to the brim with happy shoppers, there is no denying that Joe Fresh was the star of the night. The pop-up store at 151 Bloor St West had shoppers waiting patiently in a line that rivaled those found at Canada's Wonderland - we women will do quite a bit for gorgeous clothes at jaw-dropping price points...

Once inside, shoppers were greeted with drinks, appetizers and fantastic Canadian fashion. A mix that was certainly worth the wait.

Crazy for Calla

Have you heard of Calla Haynes? Well allow me to make the introduction. Born in Toronto and now working out of Paris, Calla makes clothes that look like lingerie meets museum-worthy art (she cites the Group of Seven as one of her inspirations) and a dash of pin-up girl. Her clothing is wearable and her prints are exceptionally beautiful, which means each piece achieves the feel of "relaxed luxury", which is the base concept for brand. You can count on me visiting her store this summer during my fashion-filled adventure in Paris...here's hoping we become besties.

Aaand here are some of the prints!
